In my opinion

When I’m writing, I have the bad habit of repeating continuously “in my opinion”, “I think that”, “for me”, and other highlights to confirm that it are really my words. I do it unconsciously, kneeling to my thoughts and softening an opinion that I fear can appear disruptive.

I realize that, like Chris Coyier said in his post, these openings are just a shield, in addition to a bad habit, and weaken that we want to say.

Obviously you think. You’re writing it. Obviously it’s your opinion. You’re writing it. Obviously some might disagree. It’s the internet. You don’t have to write it.

When I’m releasing a thought, written or verbal, I am talking. It’s already my personal vision, an exclusive perspective, and at the time that I’m exposing it is anything but modest. If I had a little shyness and prude, I’d keep it for myself.

It’s not necessary to strengthen or to highlight. If I’m exhibiting myself, there is no shield that can protect me. What I wrote, I think. I need to pay attention, in my opinion.
