In January 2025 I resurrected a Signal account that had, for all intents and purposes, fallen into disuse, and I shared it here on the blog with the intention of using it more often and with more engagement. For nearly a year and a half, I’ve communicated very little through the account, and only with a couple of friends who could just as easily reach me elsewhere.
In my professional experience, I’ve often dealt with corporate communication. Many users don’t know what an email is, don’t know how to write, don’t know how to reply, or – even worse – sometimes don’t even realize they need to reply. The inability to communicate within an organization, both internally and, above all, externally, is a hurdle that absolutely must be overcome.
Perhaps there is a baby bear strategy?

I’ve been using Fastmail for almost a year as an email server and client. I have already written about it, and I’m more than satisfied. This year, the service turns 25 years old, and I celebrate it by quoting Rob Mueller and Bron Gondwana (respectively CTO and CEO) about email as the first social network.
I recently did a long and very tedious job of backing up and archiving the contents of my old email inboxes.

In questo processo di progressivo allontanamento da Google, uno dei servizi che mi sono lasciato alle spalle, ma che avevo già abbandonato da tempo, è stato Gmail.
Navigando in maniera quasi ossessiva su decine di blog personali, sono arrivato alla conclusione che l’universo del blogging, tutto sommato, gode di buona salute; quello delle email, invece, no.
