Neaples

When I pass through Naples, I am always overcome by a dual feeling, a love-hate that I will carry with me for my entire life. I experience it poorly, but I experience it. And despite everything, I feel luckier than many others.

There are things, like coffee, that have a special flavor in Naples. And not because it is better, or more intense, or cheaper, or because the water has more flavor, or because the grind is tastier, or because the bartender puts passion into it, or because the waiter hums while serving it. Coffee in Naples is simply better, it’s a placebo. It is so because it must be so, it’s a dogma. Don’t deconstruct it for us.
