Smart purchasing
I like to take photos, and I have changed many cameras in my life. I bought Canon and Nikon SLRs, but also Olympus, Sony, and other mirrorless cameras. I was thinking about this while seeing the winning iPhone Photography Awards beautiful pictures. Many cameras, but in recent time, my shoots came just from my iPhone. Ever.
I’m not a photographer, and I make many mistakes shooting, but I always liked to have a semi-pro camera for my trips. I purchased my last camera before my last trip to Ireland. I used it a little, and after returning from holiday, I’m back to using my iPhone. I bought a Sony Alpha 6400L; I sold it at a store online.
I’m not a professional, and I don’t have the passion for some specific styles. Buying a camera has been uneconomical and stupid.
I love photos, but I don’t work with photos. So, I think that for me, it’s better to invest in a good smartphone — I have an iPhone 15 Pro for now — and to purchase a good photo app to take shots and edit my pictures. I will never buy a new camera.
With a phone, your memories become artificial right after taking the shot, but who isn’t using algorithms or photography software after to save or publish their shots?
Many times stupid. Many mistakes.
I sold my last camera for 40% of the purchasing cost after just eight months. I hope, at this time, it will be the last time.
Maybe a large portable charger is a smarter purchase.
